[Vietnam] This project is being implemented in Vietnam and is specifically designed to provide an ultra-reliable back-up power supply for the core data centre of the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Smart Industrial Park. As a specialist supplier of diesel generator sets for data centres, WAGNA has supplied five high-power diesel generator sets for this project, establishing a redundant diesel power generation system for the data centre. This has created a comprehensive emergency power supply system and a proven integrated diesel power generation solution for the data centre. This backup power solution, implemented in Vietnam, provides uninterrupted power support for the park's high-density computing, cloud storage and cross-border data transmission operations.

01 Project Background and Industry Challenges
The Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Smart Industrial Park is a national-level digital economy platform prioritised by the Vietnamese government, hosting numerous leading global enterprises such as LG, Samsung and Google. The park's core data centre handles large-scale cloud computing and data transmission tasks; a stable power supply is fundamental to the security of day-to-day operations, making a professional data centre backup power solution indispensable.
Data centre equipment constitutes the highest-priority critical load; even brief grid fluctuations or short-term power cuts can trigger data anomalies and business disruptions, resulting in substantial financial losses. In addition, this project faces stringent operational and environmental challenges:
Zero-tolerance for power supply continuity: The data centre requires seamless switching of emergency power supplies to ensure stable, uninterrupted operation throughout the year;
Requirements for adaptation to a tropical climate: Vietnam experiences high temperatures and humidity throughout the year, placing extremely high demands on the units' heat dissipation capacity and moisture resistance for long-term operation;
Requirement for long-term standby power supply: Given the limited stability of the local grid, generator sets must remain on standby for extended periods and be capable of frequent start-ups to address sudden power cuts.
02 Power Adaptation Analysis and Configuration Selection Logic
Taking into account the power consumption of the on-site server clusters and the peak inrush current during equipment start-up, WAGNA customised a multi-unit power supply solution for this project, selecting two 1,100 kW, one 1,375 kW and two 1,800 kW high-power diesel generators specifically designed for data centres.
This multi-unit, interlinked configuration establishes a fully redundant power supply system, completely eliminating the risk of single-point power failure. Sufficient power redundancy has been incorporated to not only offset the inrush current during equipment start-up but also accommodate future business expansion requirements, comprehensively meeting the long-term, stable power supply needs of high-standard digital infrastructure. This configuration can also be reused as a diesel power supply solution for industrial parks.
03 Technical Solution and Performance Upgrade Highlights
To adapt to harsh tropical environments and meet the stringent operational standards of data centre, WAGNA has carried out professional tuning and targeted performance upgrades on all units:
Stable and reliable emergency switchover: Optimised voltage stabilisation control systems and response mechanisms enable rapid switchover in the event of a grid failure, preventing data loss and system downtime caused by sudden voltage drops;
High tolerance to harsh environments: Upgraded cooling and moisture-proof structural designs ensure continuous and stable operation under tropical conditions of high temperature and humidity;
All-weather, high-load endurance: Iterative optimisation of engine technology has enhanced performance under sustained high loads, meeting the data centre's requirements for round-the-clock standby power supply;
Comprehensive, full-lifecycle support services: WAGNA's overseas technical team conducts regular on-site inspections and comprehensive performance testing, whilst providing operations and maintenance training for on-site staff. This covers the entire service process-from installation and commissioning to acceptance testing and maintenance-significantly reducing long-term operational risks.

This project sets a benchmark for the construction of high-power redundant standby power supplies for high-end data centre and smart industrial parks in South-East Asia.
